Sunny

Female · Senior · 9 years

Sunny is a Boxer female, born on 21.10.2016. I am not spayed and would like to introduce myself to my future humans in this way. ❤️ I am a very loving dog, but I need some time to build trust. I am initially very reserved and cautious around strangers. However, if you approach me with patience, calmness, and understanding, I can open up and become a loyal and very affectionate companion. Unfortunately, my life has been very quiet and isolated. I have lived very isolated and alone with my owner and have not been able to experience much of the world. Therefore, I am not familiar with many things that are self-evident for other dogs. New situations, people, and impressions can therefore unsettle me. I need people who give me the time to discover everything at my own pace and show me that the world can also be a beautiful and safe place. I also do not know children yet. Therefore, I am looking for a home where this is taken into account and where I can initially have a quiet and protected framework. Despite my age, I am still a very strong and powerful dog. My new humans should therefore be physically able to handle me and at the same time give me loving, consistent guidance to give me security. No illness is currently known about my health status. What I wish for? People with a big heart, a lot of patience and understanding. People who do not expect me to be able to do everything overnight, but who are willing to discover the world with me step by step. 🐾 I may have a lot to catch up on - but once I have gained trust, I want to be very close to my human and become a loyal, loving and affectionate companion. Maybe you are exactly the person I can finally arrive at. ❤️

DE·Show original

Was ich mir wünsche? ❤️

About Sunny

What life with Sunny looks like

Sunny is a large senior dog waiting at Boxer in Not in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Boxer in Not handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Boxer in Not will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sunny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Boxer in Not early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
