Sunny

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Mixed-breed Sunny - ready for her big break The approximately 2-year-old Sunny is currently living in a foster home in Bulgaria. There she shows every day what a wonderful dog she is. Now all she needs is one thing: her own family. Sunny is a loving, social and friendly young dog. She meets people openly and gets along well with other dogs. With her gentle and open-minded nature, she is a pleasant companion who enjoys the closeness to her people and simply wants to belong. For Sunny, we wish a home with people who give her the time to arrive at her own pace. Moving, new people and a completely unfamiliar environment are exciting - that's why she needs people who accompany her patiently and give her the security she needs for a successful start. Of course, Sunny still needs to learn the dog ABC. Housebreaking, being alone, driving a car or even the many impressions of everyday life will be new to her at first. With loving consistency, patience and positive reinforcement, she will master all of this step by step. She brings the best prerequisites and wants to please her people. Sunny wants a home where joint walks, exciting adventures and sufficient occupation are just as much a part of it as quiet cuddle moments. She wants to go through life with her family, build trust and spend many happy years by her people's side. Who will finally give this wonderful dog the chance at the life she so richly deserves? Adopting a rescue dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to settle into their new life. If you are seriously interested in adopting Sunny, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very happy to provide a foster home. Here's Sunny's video

About Sunny

What life with Sunny looks like

Sunny is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sunny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
