Adopt Sunny (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Name: Sunny Born: 15.01.2024 Gender: female dog Breed: mixed breed Size: rather small, ca. 8 kilos Foster home: Sunny Sunny made the leap from her foster home to her new family in a gallop 😉. We wish her and her new family a wonderful time together. Free at last, little Sunny. The age mentioned here often refers to an estimated value, as we don't always know the exact age. Other details, such as size, are subjective. The little female dog lives with her siblings and parent dogs with an older lady. Unfortunately, she is no longer physically capable of properly caring for all the dogs and has reluctantly decided to give them up. We would like to help find a new family for the little noses where they can enjoy their lives. Sunny is friendly with people and gets along with her fellow animals, and is age-appropriate in her playfulness, though she still needs to learn the dog alphabet. Sunny has now moved to a foster home near Mainz. We are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give her a second chance at a responsible home. If you are interested in this wonderful dog, please fill out the Referral Form or call us at the phone number provided. Here are a few pictures. Click an image for a larger view.

About Sunny (vermittelt)

What life with Sunny (vermittelt) looks like

Sunny (vermittelt) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sunny (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sunny (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sunny (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sunny (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sunny (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sunny (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sunny (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
