October 26, 2020, a friendly but very social cat arrived at the shelter, approximately 6 years old at the time of arrival. His owner moved from Sõmera Care Home to the city of Saaremaa Vald and the boy was left to be fed by the staff of the care home. No cat should live outdoors, especially one that is friendly, affectionate, and loves people, unfortunately for Šurik, there were no other options... It was good that we managed to get Šurik into the shelter, because he wouldn't have lasted much longer outside. Šurik is FIV positive, like most unneutered stray cats, in addition, his coronavirus test was also positive, so it's not really a surprise that his health condition was as it was. This big and soft cat deserves a life free of health problems and we do everything possible to make that happen for him. Šurik eats food that supports sensitive digestion and it works well for him. He needs a good and attentive home where he can get attention and be fed exactly as much as he wants. For now, the foster home mother can provide everything needed, but the foster home is unfortunately not a permanent home... Šurik with his gentle and shy character is not a fighter for human attention, so a very large group of four-legged beings would not suit him. For every cat, there is someone somewhere, and we sincerely hope that Šurik's person is somewhere and that this post reaches him. Šurik is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. 26.10.2020 Sõmeralt turvakodusse jõudnud tagasihoidlik, kuid väga sõbralik kass, vanus tuleku hetkel umbes 6 aastat. Tema toitja kolis Sõmera Hooldekodust linna Saaremaa Valssi ja poiss jäi hooldekodu personali toita. Ükski kass ei peaks elama ainult õues, eriti sõbralik ja paimaias ja inimest armastav, kahjuks Šuriku jaoks muud varianti ei olnud… Oli hea, et Šurikule turvakodusse koha nuputasime, sest õues ei oleks ta enam kaua vastu pidanud. Šurik on FIV positiivne nagu suur osa kastreerimata tänavakõutsidest, lisaks on positiivne ka tema coronatest, seega polegi tegelikult mingi ime, et ta tervislik olukord oli selline nagu oli. See suur ja muhe kass on väärt terviseprobleemidest vaba elu ja me teeme kõik endast oleneva, et seda talle võimaldada. Šurik sööb tundlikku seedimist toetavat toitu ja see töötab tema puhul hästi. Ta vajab head ja hoolivat kodu, kus ta saaks tähelepanu ja paisid täpselt nii palju kui tal endal soovi on. Hetkel suudab hoiukodu perenaine talle kõike vajalikus koguses tagada, aga hoiukodu pole siiski kahjuks päriskodu… Šurik oma leebe ja tagasihoidliku loomuga ei ole kahejalgsete tähelepanu eest võitleja, seega väga suur neljakäpaliste kollektiiv talle ei sobi.
