Sushi

Mixed Breed · Female

Sushi is a friendly, outgoing and confident female dog who quickly wins over people with her open nature. She goes through life with curiosity, knows what she wants and is happy to be in the thick of things. Sushi currently lives in a foster home. There she shares her daily life with four other dogs, a toddler, a cat and other animals and shows herself well integrated into the colorful coexistence. Sushi is social and good-natured with other dogs. She can therefore be placed as a second dog, but does not necessarily need a companion in her new home. However, it would be important to us that she can also have regular contact with other dogs as a single dog and the opportunity to maintain her social contacts. Sushi is still at the beginning of her life and therefore does not yet have the complete "dog multiplication table". In many areas she starts practically from scratch and must first learn and practice all the things that seem self-evident to us in everyday life. This includes, for example, house training, being alone, living and the rules in a household as well as further basic training. Her future people should therefore bring time, patience and understanding and have the pleasure of showing Sushi everything step by step. She brings the best prerequisites for this, because Sushi is very teachable, curious and eager to learn. At the same time she is an active and enterprising female dog. We wish her people who enjoy being on the move with their dog and keeping her both physically and mentally busy. Extensive walks, joint excursions and varied occupation would certainly give her a lot of joy. With loving consistency, clear rules and corresponding occupation Sushi should become a great companion for active people who are eager to learn with her and accompany her on her further way. Important: Sushi lives in a foster home and is therefore not permanently in the animal shelter. An acquaintance is of course possible, but only by prior appointment.

DE·Show original

About Sushi

What life with Sushi looks like

Sushi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Lübbersdorf in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sushi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sushi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Lübbersdorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sushi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sushi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Lübbersdorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sushi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sushi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Lübbersdorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sushi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
