Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere)

Unknown · Young · 3 years

Svea, Dina & Collin (female, female & male, mother & children) came back to us because they can no longer be cared for due to health reasons. As the trio gets along really well, we would like to place them together in a new home. All three are very curious. Mama Dina can also be a bit feisty, just like her son Collin. Daughter Svea is more shy. Since all three are long-haired rabbits, special attention must be paid to their fur care, as this breed tangles very quickly. Due to the fur texture, only an indoor housing or a weather-protected outdoor housing with a heat source in the winter is possible. At the moment, they are in indoor housing. If you are interested, please contact us via email () and add a few photos of your enclosure directly.

About Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere)

What life with Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere) looks like

Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere) is a small young adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

Note from the shelter: Requires intensive daily grooming due to long coat that mats easily. Indoor housing or weatherproof outdoor housing with winter heating required.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Düsseldorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Düsseldorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Svea, Dina & Collin (E.c. Kontakttiere) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
