Maak kennis met Sylvie! Sylvie is één van de katten die in Griekenland gered is uit wrede en onmenselijke omstandigheden van een dierenverzamelaar. Lange tijd was haar leven beperkt tot een kleine reismand. Geen licht, geen ruimte, geen vrijheid. Ze wist niet wat het betekende om te spelen, om lief aangeraakt te worden of om de zon op haar vacht te voelen. Sylvie is een kat met een erg moeilijk en traumatisch verleden. Ondanks alles heeft ze een ongelofelijke vooruitgang geboekt. Inmiddels geniet Sylvie ervan om geaaid te worden en genegenheid te ontvangen van mensen. Menselijke interactie is echter geen essentieel onderdeel van haar persoonlijkheid. Zelfs als ze zich blijft openstellen, zal ze waarschijnlijk een onafhankelijke kat blijven. Het is niet vanzelfsprekend dat ze ooit diep gehecht zal raken aan mensen. Maar deze mogelijkheid is natuurlijk niet uit te sluiten. Met tijd, geduld, respect en zonder druk of verwachtingen – vooral in een rustig en stabiel huisje – krijgt Sylvie de kans om te blijven groeien en nog meer stappen vooruit te zetten. De oorzaak van de symptomen (verlies van eetlust, koorts, uitdroging en algehele zwakte) was waarschijnlijk een tijdelijke acute nierziekte, die behandeld is. Binnen een paar dagen was ze weer de oude en sindsdien gaat het goed met haar (ze is weer op gewicht, heeft een normale eetlust en energie, en plast en poept goed). Sylvie krijgt nu een speciaal dieet (brokjes speciaal ontwikkeld voor urinewegproblemen) en een supplement om de kans op een blokkade in haar andere urineleider te verkleinen.
