Szalaszendi Szandika

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 2016 years

Hi! Szandi is a beautiful, smiling, about four-year-old girl who, although she shares her name with a famous Hungarian singer, never wanted a music career. Instead, she's looking for a loving owner! In late 2016, an animal-loving family asked us for help when they found Szandi and her 8 tiny, blind puppies, whom she was trying to feed despite her own condition. The little ones found their owners the following year, but no one came forward for Szandi. We don't know why. Why? Unfortunately, we don't know the answer. Szandi is very people-friendly, loves long walks. On Saturday walking days, she gets excited at first, but after a few minutes she becomes calmer, grazing, looking around, sniffing. One of our black-leash walkers said after the first walk that he had no idea Szandi was so sweet, and next time he would fight to take her out. She pays attention to people, and with mischievous eyes and a big smile, she thanks you for the time spent together, as seen in the photos. How can you say no to that? If you'd like to meet Szandi, please don't hesitate to contact us via e-mail or phone number. Be her Owner-to-be!

HU·Show original

Sziasztok! Szandi egy gyönyörű, mosolygós, négyév körüli leányzó, aki bár névrokona a híres magyar énekesnőnek, zenei karrierre sosem vágyott. Annál inkább egy szerető gazdira! 2016 év végén egy állatbarát család kért segítséget Tőlünk, amikor rátaláltak Szandira és 8 apró, vaksi kölykére, akiket erején felül próbált táplálni. A picik a következő évben gazdira találtak, azonban Szandiért senki sem jelentkezett. Hogy miért? Sajnos, erre nem ismerjük a választ. Szandi rendkív ül emberbarát kutyus, imádja a nagy sétákat. Légy Te a Gazdijelölt!

About Szalaszendi Szandika

What life with Szalaszendi Szandika looks like

Szalaszendi Szandika is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Szalaszendi Szandika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Szalaszendi Szandika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Szalaszendi Szandika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Szalaszendi Szandika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Szalaszendi Szandika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Szalaszendi Szandika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Szalaszendi Szandika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
