Szimóna

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 14 years

Szimóna is the next one from the Opatija shelter... the too many from the Noé Animal Shelter Foundation came into their care. He was also able to escape with the help of the Füzesabonyi animal welfare foundation. Simon has a large wound, with internal injuries, missing one of his hind toes, barely any teeth, severe skin disease, his ears are full of ticks, his teeth are in bad condition. Old, born around 2012, broken soul, broken, disappointed. His old soul has already received so many wounds, experienced so much pain and disappointment, that he says thank you, but does not ask anything from people... WE WILL NOT GIVE UP! It's necessary for him to find out what it's like when someone loves him, when no one will ever hurt him again, when the hand means tender morsels and caresses. Szimóna is currently not adoptable, but you can inquire about him at Further pictures HERE!

Szimóna a sokadik az ópályi telepről… a túlsokadik onnan a Noé Állatotthon Alapítványban gondozásába került. Ő is a Füzesabonyi Állatvédő Alapítvány segítségével menekülhetett. A Tetszik gomb eléréséhez sütik engedélyezése szükséges. apiKey: 'f94a516b15dff4516ffa78eb8ba036f3076dfc68',

About Szimóna

What life with Szimóna looks like

Szimóna is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Large hernia with intestines, missing rear paw, severe dental issues, skin disease, ear infections, requires ongoing medical care and rehabilitation

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Szimóna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Szimóna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Szimóna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Szimóna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Szimóna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Szimóna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Szimóna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
