Adopt TANGO

Male · Adult · 4 years

ELIGIBLE FAD!. TANGO arrived due to a surrender (overpopulation). He is affectionate but can have a bad temper when he wants to. He enjoys his peace but also likes company. TANGO has a little secret: an insatiable appetite for treats. He loves wet food and snacks. TANGO is eligible for the FAD (Family Adoption Definitive) due to health issues. In addition to being positive for feline AIDS, he has toxoplasmosis (a parasitic infection) which has resulted in a neurological problem manifesting as incontinence and a loss of hind limb mobility, but he still manages to move around. For now, he is not on any current medication. Veterinary costs related to toxoplasmosis, if any, will be covered by the FAD office. We are looking for people without health issues and who are not fragile but also a home in an apartment without outdoor access, without other animals, and without young children. This animal needs to be the only pet in the home.

About TANGO

What life with TANGO looks like

Frequently asked

Adopting TANGO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TANGO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Amiens) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TANGO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TANGO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Amiens) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TANGO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TANGO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Amiens) early rather than rehoming privately; they know TANGO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
