Adopt Tanja (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Name: Tanja Born 15.01.2024 Gender: female dog Breed: mixed breed Size: rather small, ca. 8 kg foster home Tanja has won the hearts of the foster parents in the storm and is allowed to stay 🙂 We are very happy. Free, little Tanja, now Lotti. The ages mentioned here often refer to estimated values, as we do not always know the exact age. Other information, such as size, is subjective. The little female dog has settled well in her foster home. Now everyone can get to know each other and see if they really fit together. The little female dog lives with her 4 siblings and parents at an older lady. Unfortunately, she is not able to take care of all the dogs adequately and has asked us for help. All the dogs are friendly with people and get along well in the pack. They are all young, lively, and open-minded, and with some practice and patience from the people, they should learn the "dog once one" relatively quickly. We would be very happy if we could help the dog family find a new, responsible home. We are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give him a second chance at a responsible home. If you are interested in this great dog, please fill out the Referral Form or call us at the phone number provided. Here are a few pictures. For a larger view, please click on an image.

About Tanja (vermittelt)

What life with Tanja (vermittelt) looks like

Tanja (vermittelt) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tanja (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tanja (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tanja (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tanja (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tanja (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tanja (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tanja (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
