Tapsi (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Name: Tapsi Born: January 2021 Gender: female Breed: mixed breed Size: will be around medium Foster home: Tapsi arrived at her foster home in Mainz on April 24, 2021. The age mentioned here often consists of estimated values, as we do not always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. First report from the foster home: The pretty and currently delicate 6.5 kg mouse arrived at us a little unsure. After a day, the ice was broken, and the little Leni clearly enjoys snuggling and especially curling up on her lap. 🙂 She has a friendly and open nature and explores her new environment with great curiosity. In response to everyday noises and passing cars, she has so far reacted super calmly. Her first car ride was also managed well. Regarding house training, Leni has already made significant progress within the short time. Now, the exploration of the home vineyards and walking on the leash are on the agenda. Of course, there is still a lot to practice with her. The little one arrived at her foster home. For now, it's all about sleeping, eating, sleeping, and having her first bath. A first description and new photos will follow in the coming days. The little puppy girl is currently living with other puppies in a Romanian animal shelter. The local animal advocates describe her as a loving, cuddly female dog who gets along well with her fellow animals. New photos and a first description will be available once she arrives in Germany (expected end of April 2021). About Tapsi (vermittelt)

What life with Tapsi (vermittelt) looks like

Tapsi (vermittelt) is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tapsi (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tapsi (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tapsi (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tapsi (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tapsi (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tapsi (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tapsi (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
