Tara came to us through the Department of the Environment in Nový Bydžov. Unfortunately, we don't know much about her past. She is at least 8 years old and according to available information, she should be a crossbreed of a Hungarian Pointer. However, we see more characteristics of a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog. Although she is officially among the senior dogs, she definitely has plenty of energy. She is active, enjoys going for walks, and will need some work on her leash - she can pull quite hard. She is loud in the kennel and can bark to get attention, but she is also very clean. Tara loves people. Contact with humans, petting, and time spent together are her greatest happiness. At the vet, she can wriggle like a worm, but with a little patience and some good treats, she will cooperate and let herself be treated without problems. She gets along well with other dogs and has no problem with reasonable children. However, it is necessary to take into account that she has a strong hunting instinct - cats and poultry do not belong in her new home. She is healthy except for a few warts, a fatty tumor on her chest and leg, and a small tumor on her mammary gland. Tara se k nám dostala prostřednictvím Odboru životního prostředí v Novém Bydžově. O její minulosti toho bohužel mnoho nevíme. Je jí minimálně 8 let a podle dostupných informací by měla být kříženkou maďarského ohaře. My v ní ale vidíme spíš rysy louisianského leopardího psa. Přestože už oficiálně patří mezi psí seniorky, energie jí rozhodně nechybí. Je aktivní, ráda vyráží na procházky a na vodítku bude potřeba ještě trochu zapracovat – umí totiž pořádně zabrat a tahat. V kotci bývá hlasitá a štěkáním si umí říct o pozornost, zároveň je ale vzorně čistotná. Tara miluje lidi. Kontakt s člověkem, pohlazení i společně strávený čas jsou pro ni tím největším štěstím. Na veterině se sice umí kroutit jako žížala, ale s trochou trpělivosti a pár dobrými pamlsky ochotně spolupracuje a nechá se bez problémů ošetřit. S ostatními psy vychází spíše dobře a s rozumnými dětmi nemá problém. Je však potřeba počítat s tím, že má silný lovecký instinkt – kočky ani drůbež proto do jejího nového domova rozhodně nepatří. Zdravotně vypadá v pořádku až na několik bradavic, tukovou bouli na hrudníku a noze. Na mléčné liště má jeden drobný novotvar, bylo by tedy vhodné jej odstranit a zároveň ji vykastrovat (pokud nenajde brzy domov, toto podstoupí v útulku). Dogpoint o.p.s.Milánská 452109 00 Praha 15.
