adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Tarantino has found a home! His story: Zalau, Romania. A friendly companion is looking for his own dog bed to arrive. This black beauty was rescued and brought to safety by some construction workers. The construction workers were just finishing a house and had to find a solution only for Tarantino. For, as the tomcat had been diligently helping with the house construction, now that his services were no longer needed, an alternative for the tomcat is sought. A home of his own, where the hardworking gentleman can continue to help in the household, would be a dream. The approximately 1.5-year-old tomcat is a real beauty with his silky black fur. Additionally, the tomcat impresses with his friendly and confident character. He is also playful and open-minded towards cats and people, enjoying every opportunity to invite them to play. He should also be moved to another cat-friendly home, as he gets along so wonderfully with his fellow animals. If a playmate in the new home is not yet available, the young tomcat will surely bring someone from the animal residents with him. However, he should not be allowed outside. Due to his past, the young tomcat should no longer be exposed to dangers. In case of construction work within the apartment, he will of course be ready to lend a hand. He would also be very happy to have a safe balcony to observe birds and bask in the sun. However, this is not a must. Dogs are also no problem for Tarantino, so he is prepared for that as well. Tarantino can travel at any time and is then, like all our cats and tomcats, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He also has an EU pet passport and was given his unique name and identity by Silvie S.!

About Tarantino

What life with Tarantino looks like

Tarantino is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tarantino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tarantino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tarantino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tarantino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tarantino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tarantino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tarantino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
