Adopt Taras (Тарас)

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 13 years

Kharkiv. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that animals outlive their owners. The woman loved her cats very much; they lived in the house, were the most beloved, but four years ago her owner passed away. Purebred and very beloved cats became orphans. For some time, relatives of the deceased took care of them, then neighbors, but now even they are leaving, and no one is taking care of the animals anymore. The animals are left on the street. No one deserves such old age, neither people nor animals... There are three cats, two girls (Siam cat Toma, black Masha) and a boy, gray Taras. One cat is 4 years old (Toma), the other cat and the boy are 10 years old. The boy is neutered. Over the years, they have been well cared for, and in good hands, they will soon become beautiful cats again and live a long life with proper care. Maybe someone among you will have pity on the animals and be able to take them in to live out their lives in warmth!?

About Taras (Тарас)

What life with Taras (Тарас) looks like

Taras (Тарас) is a small senior mixed breed cat waiting at Happy Paw Kharkiv in Ukraine.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇺🇦Adopting from Ukraine

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Taras (Тарас), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Taras (Тарас)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kharkiv handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Taras (Тарас) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Taras (Тарас) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kharkiv will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Taras (Тарас) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Taras (Тарас) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kharkiv early rather than rehoming privately; they know Taras (Тарас) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
