🐾 TAU IS LOOKING FOR A HOME 🏡❤️ Tau came to us after he lost his beloved owner. He lost his home and the person he was used to trusting, and now he is waiting for someone to offer him a fresh start. Tau is a good-natured, sociable and affectionate dog who really loves people. He adores walks and walks on the leash beautifully, so outings together will be a real pleasure. 🥰 👧 He can live with children – here at the shelter he often goes on walks with them and is an easygoing companion. 🏡 We would most like to find Tau a home in a house with a yard and constant access indoors. In a kennel he can be rather vocal and likes to let everyone know he's there. 😄 🐕 He is not conflictual with other dogs, but, as with every dog in our care, any cohabitation with a specific canine companion should be tested individually. Tau is simply a lovely dog who lost his home through no fault of his own. He now deserves just one thing – to find a person who will love him and offer him a place where he can truly stay forever. ❤️ Give Tau a second chance. 🐾 If you are interested, please fill out the questionnaire.

About Tau

What life with Tau looks like

Tau is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Útulek Dogsy in Czech Republic.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tau, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tau?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Dogsy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tau on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tau if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Dogsy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tau already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tau isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Dogsy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tau and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
