adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Tavi is a young, playful male dog, just beginning to explore the world. He is curious, friendly, and very people-oriented. He visibly enjoys proximity and attention, constantly seeking contact. At the same time, he brings the typical energy of a puppy and is always eager to move. Found in poor condition: hungry, heavily infested with parasites, and weakened. There was a suspicion of Parvovirus, which fortunately did not turn out to be the case. With proper care, rest, and time, he has recovered well and developed steadily. Currently, Tavi is about 3 months old and is expected to reach a medium size when fully grown. Today, Tavi lives on a foster home in Cluj-Napoca and shows himself there as an open, cheerful young dog. He is compatible with other dogs and knows cats as well. Life in a home must still be learned by Tavi. Things like house training, fixed routines, quiet phases, and also being alone are new to him. Also, he is not yet familiar with leash walking, which will need to be built up step by step. Like with any young dog, puberty is still ahead of Tavi. During this time, much changes: learned things are questioned, boundaries are tested, and not everything works reliably right away. This is a normal developmental step that requires people who remain calm, are consistent, and provide clear orientation. With patience, structure, and a loving, reliable guidance, Tavi can develop well. Positive working dog training classes can help and contribute to creating a good foundation from the start. Tavi is looking for people who will reliably accompany and give him the time to develop. Tavi is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and travels with an EU pet passport. He is named after his namesake Daniela S., who gave him his name. As of: 28.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Tavi

What life with Tavi looks like

Tavi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tavi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tavi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tavi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tavi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tavi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tavi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tavi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
