Adopt Tcheko

Mixed Breed · Male

Characteristics: vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered I was rescued from a horrible farm. I was tied by my neck to a high tree trunk. My fur dragged on the ground, and they said I was bad. I took the broom…Yes, I didn't trust anyone, not even a little bit. I bit Ana Duarte three times at Bianca's shelter. But she didn't complain or give up on me! And now I'm a boy who trusts most people, as long as they don't have a stick or something similar in their hand. In fact, I really need a family without children, and where the adults respect my "formed" personality from the abuse… I know how to respect people and love them. But what I love most is playing with a ball until I fall over, exhausted! I would have loved to have the home I never had, because I had a beating, chains, bones, wind, and rain…. This animal is not suitable for homes with children. This animal is for adult-only homes.

About Tcheko

What life with Tcheko looks like

Tcheko is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Bianca APS in Portugal.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tcheko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tcheko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bianca APS handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tcheko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tcheko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bianca APS will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tcheko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tcheko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bianca APS early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tcheko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
