Teddy B

Mixed Breed · Male

Teddy has arrived well at his foster home – a teddy bear on four paws. He shows himself there as a lovely, open dog when dealing with us humans and gets along very well with the existing dogs. He already knows how to walk on a leash and appears quite relaxed doing so. Otherwise, he is generally quite relaxed and is getting to know family life step by step. Now all he needs for his happiness is one more thing: his own people and a real forever home. Who will give this wonderful dog his first real home and accompany him on his further journey through life? 🐻 Teddy – a big heart on four paws is looking for its Forever Home Teddy is a loving, about three-year-old male dog with a strong body and gentle disposition. With his loyal eyes and calm demeanor, he touches hearts immediately. He knows how to walk on a leash and enjoys every minute spent with humans – short walks are a real highlight in a life that has been almost entirely about waiting. For Teddy has now lived over three years at our shelter. Three years behind bars. Three years without a real home, without a fixed primary caregiver, without the closeness he longs for so much. The tight enclosure takes its toll on him – physically and mentally. He suffers there day by day, yet he has preserved his friendly, loving nature. He shows himself to be social and open in dealing with other dogs. He loves affection and is grateful for every touch. One can sense how much he simply wants to belong. There is so much untapped love in him that finally wants to be received. Teddy is ready. Ready for a home where he can fit in. For people who do not overlook him but see him – really see him. Maybe you are? If you believe Teddy fits into your life, we would be delighted to hear a few lines about yourself and your home. Perhaps with your message, Teddy's new life will begin. It would be nice if he was finally up next. We are happy to answer your questions.

In ihm steckt so viel unentdeckte Liebe, die endlich ankommen will.Teddy ist bereit. Bereit für ein Zuhause, in dem er ankommen darf. About Teddy B

What life with Teddy B looks like

Teddy B is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy B, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy B?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy B on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy B if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy B already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy B isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy B and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
