πŸ“ Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire Age: 10 months Sex: Male Breed: Cavalier cross Good with dogs? Yes. Teddy loves playing with other dogs and needs a suitable young resident dog. Good with cats? Not tested Good with children? Yes, with gentle and respectful children Time able to be left alone: Short periods only. Teddy is a young dog and is not suitable for a home where he will routinely be left for long periods. Teddy is a very handsome 10-month-old Blenheim Cavalier cross who is currently in foster care in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. He is a calm, confident and well-natured young dog who settled into his foster home remarkably quickly. Teddy joined in with the resident dogs from the beginning, happily exploring his new surroundings, and soon became an integral part of everyday family life. Teddy loves playing with other dogs and would be best suited to a home with at least one friendly young resident dog who enjoys playing. He is very sociable and has shown no nervousness or reluctance to join in. Despite his young age, Teddy has a wonderfully laid-back nature. He enjoys playing, exploring and going for walks, but he does not become excessively excitable. He is affectionate, loves a cuddle and enjoys spending time close to his people. Teddy is confident around unfamiliar people, children and in busier situations. He is a well-adjusted young dog who appears to take new experiences in his stride. He walks very nicely on the lead without pulling or becoming overexcited when the leads come out. Teddy also travels well in the car and remains calm during journeys. He listens well, responds when his name is called and already knows some basic commands, including sit. His adopter will need to continue his training and help him develop into a well-mannered adult dog. Teddy loves his food and enjoys being involved in family life. His foster family describe him as an adorable, calm and affectionate little boy who has fitted effortlessly into their home. βœ… Health conditions: No known health conditions at present. Teddy needs adopters who understand the commitment involved in caring for and training a young dog.

About Teddy

What life with Teddy looks like

Teddy is a puppy/kitten cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Bliss Cavalier Rescue in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bliss Cavalier Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Bliss Cavalier Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bliss Cavalier Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
