Tequila

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! Tequila can stay forever in your foster family! Tequila can travel to her foster home in August! Her story: Cluj, Romania. Our lovely Tequila was found in the courtyard of an abandoned house with her mother, Ona. No other puppies were found. Did she have siblings? Are they still alive? Or what happened to them? We don't know… But Tequila and mother Ona are now in safety and ready for a new life. Tequila is about 7 months old and we assume she will reach a medium size. She is a charming little puppy. She is friendly, playful, and always tries to get attention from people! She gets along super well with her puppy friends. A true dream puppy, or? The sweet Tequila is now looking for people who won't expect much from her and will show her how a normal puppy life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against her, and Tequila should always be guided with a positive training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Tequila is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive assessment. Are you ready for the sweet puppy? Then contact us! Many thanks Sandra S.! You named Tequila! Date: 10.08.

Vielen Dank Sandra S.! Du hast Tequila ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 10.08.2022

About Tequila

What life with Tequila looks like

Tequila is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tequila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tequila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tequila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tequila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tequila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tequila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tequila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
