Adopt Teri

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 14 years

Terike came to us last December, after her owner passed away. In the first weeks, we hardly saw her; she hid in her house and just lay there all day. Then, with a little encouragement, she ventured out, and we took her for walks, but after the walk, she would go back into the house again. This went on for a while, and then one day she no longer hid, and instead stayed outside curiously. Maybe her mourning had ended. According to the little book, Terike was born in 2010, so she is 14 years old. As a young dog, she must have been very handsome, with long legs, a nice frizz, and a sweet bottom. She has aged, but she is still beautiful, though her kind face is now gray. Terike is gray, but she hasn't lost her will to live; she is a lively senior dog. She can walk alongside a person for kilometers, she doesn't lag behind, nor does she rush anywhere anymore; she sniffs and looks around. Perhaps the stimuli don't reach her as they used to, but Mrs. Teri is still very much with us. She sleeps alone, but during the day, she is often with some younger dogs. Sometimes an expression appears on her face that says "Oh, these young people today..." but she accepts that she didn't end up in a retirement home. Terike is a kind, adaptable dog. Is there an Angel who would take Terike into their family? An Angel not bothered by the fact that this adorable, peaceful old lady dog no longer has silky fur, her skin isn't as elastic, and from her eyes, instead of a sparkle, there's more endless wisdom looking back? Because elderly dogs are so wise... Is there someone who would accept that less time is spent together, but it would be more meaningful? Who would help Terike live the rest of her life in peace, calm, and love? That's all she needs... and we need an Angel! Terike currently lives in Csévharaszton, her phone number is 06-20-543-5092. We are waiting for the Angel!

Talán letelt a gyász. Terike jelenleg Csévharaszton lakik, a telefonszáma 06-20-543-5092. Várjuk az Angyalt!

About Teri

What life with Teri looks like

Teri is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
