Tessa came to our shelter as a found animal. Now she is looking for Maunz Patrons. Tessa is a quiet, reserved and rather shy cat who initially approaches new people with caution. She needs time to build trust and feels most comfortable when given the opportunity to arrive at her own pace. Whoever observes her quickly notices that behind her cautious nature lies a gentle cat who simply needs more time and understanding. Unfortunately, Tessa has some health challenges. She suffers from kidney disease and also struggles with diarrhea repeatedly. In addition, she has arthritis which particularly makes everyday life difficult for her. Her teeth also need to be treated so that she can eat pain-free and feel more comfortable overall. In addition, her castration is still pending. Another issue are her breed-related eye problems. Due to a permanently increased eye discharge, Tessa needs lifelong therapy as well as regular care of her eyes so that she can live as comfortably as possible. Due to her health situation, Tessa is not currently looking for a new home, but rather loving Patrons who want to support her. The breeding-related morphological and/or physiological changes in so-called breeding with defects can lead to behavioral disorders and are associated with physical suffering and pain for the animals. According to § 11b Animal Welfare Act, the breeding of such animals is prohibited. A characteristic of this breed is the breeding-induced strong shortening of the facial skull. This leads to a narrowing of the upper airways and the tear duct, inward turning of the eyelid edge as well as underbite, overbite and cross bite, which among other things can make food intake extremely difficult. The wide skull makes natural birth difficult. If animals suffer anatomically, it is a breeding with defects. As advocates for animals, we reject this. Pet owners who support such breeding are acting irresponsibly.

Da niemand die kleine Maus zu vermissen schien, suchen wir nun ein liebevolles Für-Immer-Zuhause für sie. Tessa ist eine ruhige und zurückhaltende Samtpfoten, die Fremden zunächst mit Vorsicht begegnet. Sie braucht Zeit, um Vertrauen aufzubauen, und fühlt sich am wohlsten, wenn man ihr die Möglichkeit gibt, in ihrem eigenen Tempo anzukommen. Wer sie beobachtet, merkt schnell, dass hinter ihrer vorsichtigen Art eine sanfte Katze steckt, die einfach etwas Zeit und Verständnis braucht. Leider hat Tessa einige gesundheitliche Probleme: Sie leidet an einer Nierenerkrankung und hat außerdem immer wieder mit Durchfall zu kämpfen. Hinzu kommt Arthrose, die ihr insbesondere im Alltag zu schaffen macht. Ein weiteres Thema sind ihre qualzuchtbedingten Augenprobleme. Durch einen dauerhaft verstärkten Augenausfluss benötigt Tessa eine lebenslange Therapie sowie regelmäßige Pflege ihrer Augen, damit sie möglichst beschwerdefrei leben kann. Aufgrund ihrer gesundheitlichen Situation nicht nur ein neues Zuhause, sondern auch Pat*innen, die sie unterstützen möchten. Mit einer Patenschaft helfen Sie dabei, ihre medizinische Versorgung, notwendige Behandlungen und die laufenden Therapiekosten zu sichern. So ermöglichen Sie Tessa die bestmögliche Betreuung und schenken ihr die Sicherheit, die sie verdient. Dieses Tier entstammt der Verpaarung mit einer*m Vertreter*in einer Qualzucht. Die züchtungsbedingten morphologischen und/oder physiologischen Veränderungen bei sogenannten Qualzuchtrassen können zu Verhaltensstörungen führen und sind mit körperlichen Leiden und Schmerzen für die Tiere verbunden. Laut § 11b Tierschutzgesetz ist die Zucht solcher Tiere verboten. Ein Kennzeichen dieser Rasse ist die züchterisch erzeugte starke Verkürzung des Gesichtsschädels. Dies führt zu einer Verengung der oberen Atemwege und des Tränenkanals, Einwärtsdrehen des Augenlidrandes sowie Vorbiss, Überbiss und Schiefbiss, was unter anderem die Nahrungsaufnahme extrem erschweren kann. Der breite Schädel erschwert eine natürliche Geburt. Wenn die Tiere anatomisch bedingt leiden, handelt es sich um eine Qualzucht. Als Anwält*innen der Tiere lehnen wir diese ab.
