Texas

Male · Kitten · 3 months

Texas was entrusted to us by his owner when he was a kitten. Unfortunately, he has not interested anyone. Texas is an adorable cat. At first, he needs to be approached gently when he is unfamiliar, and avoid any sudden movements as he will hide. He loves being petted when he feels comfortable. He is a playful cat with his own species, and we are looking for a family with another cat. He also plays with dogs if they are gentle with him. Being rather fearful, he is best suited for an apartment placement (no house with a yard). TEXAS is microchipped, vaccinated against feline infectious peritonitis and cat flu, and treated for fleas and worms. He is neutered. He is adoptable in Ile-de-France under an associative contract with the Refuge Rêves de Chiens. A financial contribution corresponding to the veterinary expenses incurred will be requested. For more information, contact the shelter at the address or by phone.

About Texas

What life with Texas looks like

Texas is a large puppy/kitten cat waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Texas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Texas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Texas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Texas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Texas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Texas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Texas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
