Thank you Forthglade

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 6 months

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Forthglade Natural Pet Food, a Devon-based company renowned for its commitment to natural, wholesome dog nutrition. Through their ‘Happy Paws' initiative, Forthglade has announced The Rescue Hotel as an official charity partner!! As part of the partnership they are generously providing nutritious meals and treats to support the dogs in our care and all adopted dogs will be sent home with their own Forthglade rehoming pack. Our co-founder and trustee Toria said of the partnership: “We’re over the moon to be supported by Forthglade for several reasons; we genuinely believe the key to happy, healthy, adoptable-dogs is a nutritious diet and that’s why we love giving our dog’s Forthglade dinner’s, we’re investing the money we’ve saved thanks to their food donations into supporting our dog’s welfare in other ways, and last but not least, because they genuinely care.” This collaboration has already made a significant impact in Februay they donated an incredible 15,552 meals to us which should see the dogs tummies full for around 6 months before we receive another similar donation. In a recent campaign aligned with Random Acts of Kindness Day, Forthglade pledged to donate a pack of Dental Sticks for every pack purchased on their website. Thanks to the overwhelming support from their customers, we received 3,250 Dental Sticks, ensuring our dogs enjoy not only tasty treats but also improved dental health . We are immensely grateful for Forthglade's support and look forward to a fruitful partnership that will enhance the lives of our rescue dogs. Together, we are making a difference, one meal at a time. About Thank you Forthglade

What life with Thank you Forthglade looks like

Thank you Forthglade is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Cardiff Dogs Home / The Rescue Hotel.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Thank you Forthglade, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Thank you Forthglade?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cardiff Dogs Home / The Rescue Hotel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Thank you Forthglade on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Thank you Forthglade if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cardiff Dogs Home / The Rescue Hotel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Thank you Forthglade already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Thank you Forthglade isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cardiff Dogs Home / The Rescue Hotel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Thank you Forthglade and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
