Thanos

Female

Thanos, Rottweiler, born on 19.07.20, neutered Thanos came to us via the veterinary office and has been classified as dangerous by the city of Ludwigsburg. Therefore, a muzzle and leash are required for him, and a thorough understanding of handling dangerous dogs is necessary. We are happy to inform you about this. At Thanos's shelter, he gets along well with people who are clear and firm with him. He shows signs of incompatibility with male dogs, and compatibility with others would need to be tested on a case-by-case basis with a stable female dog. Thanos cannot be rehomed with cats or small animals and also cannot be placed with families with children. We see the imposing male dog at breed-experienced dog owners who have the desire and time to continue shaping him. His basic obedience is currently more lacking than present. But he has really good potential, can listen well, and also can be trained. Building on this is possible. Thanos had likely three biting incidents before the classification. He knows how to use his teeth and would do it again if no one tells him to stop. He is familiar with the muzzle and wears it without problems. It is clear that he should also stay at home initially, until he knows the rules of the house. Thanos is unsure but also goes forward at times. His new owners need to see, interpret correctly, and handle this. Thanos is not a self-starter, not for inexperienced people, but also not a monster. Where are the Rottweiler fans who will take on this challenge? -13 { margin: auto; } -13 -13 img { border: 2px solid; }

DE·Show original

-14 { margin: auto; } -14 -14 img { border: 2px solid ; } -14 /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

About Thanos

What life with Thanos looks like

Thanos is a adult dog waiting at Tierheim Pirmasens in Pirmasens.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Thanos, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Thanos?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Pirmasens handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Thanos on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Thanos if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Pirmasens will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Thanos already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Thanos isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Pirmasens early rather than rehoming privately; they know Thanos and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
