adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Thea! adoption requirements adoption process Thea has found her forever home! Her story: Wet, cold, and full of fear, too weak to make herself noticed… That's how Thea's first weeks of life began. Fortunately, Thea and her sister were found in time and brought to our shelter. Shortly after, she was ready to pack her little bag and travel to a foster home. There, she eagerly awaits her forever home. Thea is about 7 months old and initially shows a bit of caution and reticence. Once the ice is broken, however, she is very clingy and cuddly. In her foster home, she is very eager to learn and enjoys discovering new things with your people. She already knows some basic commands. On the leash, she does great. Currently, Thea lives with three other dogs and a cat, and gets along well with all of them. She also gets along well with the small children in the foster family and is eager to make contact with people. She is a real treasure who loves to discover new things. Due to her appearance, we cannot rule out a German Shepherd mix and corresponding hound genes. We are sure that the clever female dog will quickly learn everything about dog 1×1 if she is raised with lots of loving consistency and desired behavior is reinforced. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, lots of snuggling time, and also a visit to puppy school. Our Thea is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive assessment. If you want to show Thea the sunny side of life, please contact us! Many thanks, Susann G.! You gave Thea her beautiful name! Many thanks to www.slothygrafie.de for the lovely photos of Milko! Date: 24.12.

So begannen Theas erste Lebenswochen. Vielen Dank Susann G.! Du hast Thea ihren schönen Namen geschenkt! About Thea

What life with Thea looks like

Thea is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Thea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Thea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Thea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Thea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Thea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Thea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Thea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
