Negative! An up-to-date test will be conducted before departure. Location: Shelter (K) Theo is looking for his forever home 🐾 Theo is a typical Pointer mix: full of life, people-oriented, and bursting with energy. The young male was found abandoned at a dog training ground and is now waiting to finally find a home where he’ll be loved and cherished. Theo loves human contact above all else. He’s very cuddly, seeks closeness, and thoroughly enjoys every petting session. At the same time, he exudes the typical zest for life of a young Pointer: he’s active, curious, and loves moving around and exploring the world. After long walks, shared activities, or little adventures, Theo shows his affectionate side and just wants to be as close as possible to his humans. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and proves to be easygoing and friendly in everyday life. We’re looking for an active family for Theo who enjoys keeping him physically and mentally stimulated while also showering him with lots of love and security. A home where he feels like he truly belongs and can journey through life together with his people. Theo is a wonderful young dog with a big heart—so who will give this affectionate and cheerful Pointer mix the chance for a happy dog life? ❤️ Before traveling to his new home, X-rays can be taken upon request for a fee, ensuring that all joints are healthy. The fee depends on the number of X-rays taken. You can find more dogs and our application form on our website at

About Theo

What life with Theo looks like

Theo is a large young adult pointer dog waiting at Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Theo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Theo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Theo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Theo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Theo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Theo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Theo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
