How do I contact the shelter about Thomas?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Malá farma handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Thomas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Thomas if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Malá farma will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Thomas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Thomas isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Malá farma early rather than rehoming privately; they know Thomas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Thomas

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Thomas, a rescued dog with a difficult past, is looking for his loving family. Thomas was found in poor health, simply discarded over a fence by someone who didn't care about his life. When he arrived at the shelter, he was infested with fleas, had an injured eye, and noticeably pale gums. Veterinary examinations revealed a serious diagnosis - dirofilariasis. However, Thomas was given a chance, completed treatment, and can now start a new chapter in his life. Thomas is a crossbreed of Bichon Frise and has the typical personality of a small companion dog. He is loving, sensitive, and gentle. He enjoys human company and can be talkative when he feels good. He is a small dog with a big heart who can form a beautiful bond with his owner. Thomas is a low-shedding breed and his appearance requires regular grooming. Thomas needs to be monitored to avoid overeating and becoming even more round than he is now. After everything Thomas has been through, he deserves a peaceful and loving environment where he is treated as a true family member. Thomas has been given a second chance. Now he is looking for a family that can show him that this time he will stay forever. That his place is with a family that will love, protect, and stand by him through every stage of his life. Thomas's past cannot be changed. However, you can write his future differently. Thomas can also be supported financially for veterinary procedures and food. Zachránený psík Thomas s ťažkou minulosťou hľadá svoju milujúcu rodinku. Thomasa v zlom zdravotnom stave niekto jednoducho prehodil cez plot ! About Thomas

What life with Thomas looks like

Thomas is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Malá farma in Slovakia.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.
