About Thomas

Thomas is a truly special boy who has had a very difficult start in life, but his journey of rehabilitation at the center is a testament to his brave heart. While he was initially very nervous and would bark at newcomers, Thomas has made wonderful, steady progress with the people he now knows. He has transformed from a dog who watched from a distance to one who now greets his favorite female handlers with cuddles, kisses, and "body leans" for affection. With time, love and patience, we know he will make a wonderful companion for a loving family.Thomas thrives on routine and gentle company. He has only recently found the confidence to explore our paddocks, a huge milestone for this sensitive lad. Because of his past, he is quite fearful of men and bonds much more deeply and quickly with female handlers. His training is in progress, and will need a patient owner to help him with the basics like lead walking and toilet training. The Perfect Match: Thomas is looking for a quiet, calm home with a secure garden and very few visitors. He is incredibly social with other dogs and finds great confidence in their company; he could be adopted on his own, together with his friend Tommy, or paired with a calm, quiet resident dog.
