Tic

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 5 years

« Hello! My name is Tic (some of the caretakers prefer to call me Shrek) and I'm here to introduce myself to you today *adjusts my little bow tie*: In April I will celebrate my 4th birthday, two of which have been spent at the shelter, and my wish would be to celebrate my birthday in a loving family! I am very friendly, I love people, their company, even though I am quite clumsy in my interactions with them... They say I have the "tiger syndrome"... I would rather have the build of a pregnant panda...(hey, that's not nice)... Anything can trigger my excitement for play and predation! I love it to play! To hunt! I just don't always know how to hold back, and I 'confuse' my prey. Therefore, you will need to be very understanding with me, take the time to get to know me, to understand my limits, recognize my signals, and adapt to my fiery personality. Therefore, it would be preferable that the family has experience with cats, does not have young children; (I would be too afraid of hurting them with my clumsiness, just like elderly people), nor other animals (I am quite exclusive). Thank you humans, I hope to meet you soon! I'll let one of my caretakers speak, who apparently has something to say about me »: *Grabs the microphone* Hello, indeed, I've been taking care of this fur ball for several months, and despite his specific character traits, Tic has greatly improved in the cattery, in a large space. I think he will need space, an outside area, so that he can find lots of stimulation, and thus be less inclined to his clumsy behaviors. Once you have taken the time to get to know him, respect his limits and be ready to accept him for who he is... I'm sure you'll enjoy having a cat like Tic by your side... He is so affectionate, and so funny!! Seeing him leave for a family would leave us a big void, but it would be such a joy for him... You have nothing to lose by coming to meet him... except falling under the charm of this little clown... Thank you for him!

« Hello !

About Tic

What life with Tic looks like

Tic is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at S.P.A Vauclusienne in Piégon.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tic, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tic?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. S.P.A Vauclusienne handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tic on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tic if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — S.P.A Vauclusienne will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tic already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tic isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with S.P.A Vauclusienne early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tic and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
