Tiger + Bienchen

European Shorthair · Unknown

Tiger & Bienchen 🥰 The two came to us together through official channels and are now searching for a new home together. Life at the animal shelter really takes its toll on Bienchen. Most of the time, she spends withdrawn in her scratching post. However, we’re confident that in a calm home, she’ll quickly open up. Once she’s gained trust, she loves to come over to her favorite people, enjoys long, loving pettings, and shows her gratitude with a loud purr. Tiger, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. This handsome fellow is outgoing, curious, and quickly builds trust with people. He faces new situations much more calmly, which in turn gives Bienchen extra reassurance. Together, the two would love a quiet home—ideally an apartment with a secure balcony. A home without other pets and without small children would be just perfect for them. If you’d like to get to know this lovely duo, feel free to contact us by email ❤️

About Tiger + Bienchen

What life with Tiger + Bienchen looks like

Tiger + Bienchen is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Neuwied in Neuwied.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiger + Bienchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiger + Bienchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Neuwied handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiger + Bienchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiger + Bienchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Neuwied will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tiger + Bienchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiger + Bienchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Neuwied early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiger + Bienchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
