Meet Tiger♂️ Male 🎂 Birth date: September 2025 (estimate) 🧡 Domestic Long Hair ✂️ Neutered 🐕 Can live with dogs 🐈 Can live with other cats 💉 Fully vaccinated 🧪 FIV/FeVL negative 🇹🇷 Currently in Turkey - available for adoption in the San Francisco area Rescue Date: November 2025Tiger's story could have ended very differently. We found him on the streets in urgent need of help, suffering from a severe, untreated eye infection. Thankfully, we reached him just in time — with veterinary care and medication, we were able to save both of his eyes. From the moment we picked him up, it was clear that Tiger was never meant for street life. He clung to us, purred endlessly, and made himself comfortable in our laps as if he’d been waiting his whole life for safety and affection. There was no way we could put him back on the streets. Tiger is now in a loving foster home in Istanbul, receiving all the care he needs while he finishes his vaccinations and prepares for his new future. He is a long-haired, ginger beauty, incredibly sweet, affectionate, and a true cuddle bug. He adores people, loves being held, and will happily curl up on a warm lap for hours.

About Tiger

What life with Tiger looks like

Tiger is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Help Street Cats and Dogs in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiger?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Street Cats and Dogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiger if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Street Cats and Dogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tiger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiger isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Street Cats and Dogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
