Tigger

Male · Adult · 8 years

Hello, I am Tigger. So far, I haven't really had much luck in my life. My previous owner was a small, 8-year-old boy who, of course, was overwhelmed by my husbandry needs. Then a little human came along, which completely threw me off, and I showed my displeasure by marking their belongings. This obviously did not please the mother, and I was temporarily brought to some acquaintances. However, I did not feel comfortable there either and continued to mark. After much back and forth, the people then brought me to this animal shelter. Due to my entire background, I am very shy and reserved. I am looking for a primary caregiver who I can choose myself. I am on the hunt for a quiet home with quiet people who can take my fear of the unknown. Small children should not live in my new home anymore, as I am very overwhelmed by new situations. There is always some chaos in a household with children, after all... Also, I would finally like to enjoy free roam in my new home once I have settled in. So far, I have not had much contact with other cats, but I can then make some friends outside. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Tigger

What life with Tigger looks like

Tigger is a small adult cat waiting at Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. in Remagen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tigger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tigger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tigger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tigger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tigger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tigger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tigger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
