Tigretón

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 10 years

I am a 10-year-old male tabby cat, a real handsome and noble old boy. If you are looking for a calm companion who will fill your life with peace and cuddles, I am very, very affectionate and love being close to humans! About me: 🩹 Health: Some time ago I was hit by a car and had to undergo a surgery called arthroplasty. Thanks to the care I received, I recovered great and now live completely normally, happy and without that holding me back. 🦁 Character: As a good senior cat, I am calm, noble and very grateful. I'm past the age of breaking curtains or running around wild; what I like best now is a nice soft bed, pets and thanking you with my purrs. Although with other cats I sometimes have my reservations. At 10 years old I know perfectly well what it's like to suffer on the streets, that's why I'm looking for a responsible family who will give me the chance to prove that senior cats are the most loyal and affectionate companions in the world. Will you open the doors of your home to me? 🥺

About Tigretón

What life with Tigretón looks like

Tigretón is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid in Madrid.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tigretón, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tigretón?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tigretón on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tigretón if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tigretón already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tigretón isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tigretón and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
