adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Tilda has found her home! Her story: Tilda, a wonderful, friendly, and people-oriented female dog who is now waiting in her foster home for you. Tilda enjoys all human attention. We are particularly pleased that Tilda's eyes now sparkle with joy! Tilda shows herself to be a calm, curious, and confident female dog. She is house-trained, moves around the house on all floor surfaces completely relaxed, and also handles the (carpeted) open stairs without a problem. She walks well on a leash and masters basic commands. She reacts calmly to environmental stimuli like cars, joggers, or bicycles and even loud tractors. Dog interactions go smoothly, and she shows little playfulness. With people, she is always exceptionally friendly and is always happy to be spoken to. Tilda tends to want to be the boss in the two-dog household. However, she can be corrected or sent to her dog bed by a human without any problem. Tilda has quickly adapted to working from home and usually lies calmly in her dog bed. She finds driving a car no problem. The disciplined getting in and out of the car is practiced and already works very well. The first restaurant visit was well managed. We are currently working on being alone. She is not compatible with cats, and a hunting behavior is present. Since Tilda already knows so much and behaves completely calmly in what she perceives as unfamiliar situations, we also suspect that she already had a home before being found on the street in Romania. We wish for the people-oriented Tilda a wonderful home, preferably as a single princess. Since she is always so happy, children or older people should be able to handle her well. A garden or balcony would be great for her, as she likes to lie in the sun. A multi-family home is not a problem, as she can climb stairs and is so friendly. Even ambitious beginners who want to take her to dog training classes are suitable as future owners. She is eager to learn, needs, and accepts clear rules and boundaries, and then becomes a very attached female dog. With treats, Tilda can be well motivated during training and is learnable.

Vielen Dank Maja W.! Du hast Tilda ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 20.04.2025

About Tilda

What life with Tilda looks like

Tilda is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tilda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tilda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tilda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tilda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tilda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tilda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tilda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
