Tilly

Border Collie · Female · Puppy · 8 months

Tilly is a lovely girl who has found herself in our care through no fault of her own. She can be a timid girl and is looking for a patient and understanding family that can provide her with the love and consistency she needs to flourish. Once she knows you, she loves a cuddle and she is a real foodie which will be a great incentive for any training. Tilly is an 8 month old Collie x German Shepherd. She is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and would benefit from some further dog socialisation once settled as she can be underconfident when meeting other dogs. Tilly is a sweet girl who can be worried and so would like a home where any children are of Older Secondary School age or older and can be understanding of her nervous nature and that she may want space. Tilly will need someone with her most of the time initially as she does not like being left and any leaving hours will need to be built up slowly. She will need access to a secure garden to provide space for play and training but may be able to cope with this being a communal space depending on the set up. Tilly can be worried meeting new people and will need minimal visitors to her new home initially and for any new people to build a bond with her in her own time.

About Tilly

What life with Tilly looks like

Tilly is a puppy border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
