Timida

Mixed Breed · Female

Breed: mixed-breed female dog Age: born around 06/2023 Hallo… my name is Timida… which means shy, and that fits, as they say, like a fist to the eye, because at first I was so shy, yes, so to say, full of fear, that I wouldn’t let anyone near me, not even the other dogs, I was even very rude to them… Luckily, I have made great progress since then and now I love to dash and play with the other dogs in the garden… I now respond well to my name and come to the caretakers when they call me, I would be pretty silly if I missed out on the cuddle sessions… Even the volunteers take me on walks, because I have also mastered the leash thing, okay, we still need a bit of practice, but it’s no big deal anymore… Well, and if you look at me like that, you have to admit that I am already a pretty girl with my blonde short haircut, the white accents, and this beautiful eyeliner around my hazel eyes… Figuratively, I can really hold my own and I think we could definitely keep each other active, so that stays the case… I was a stray and, as I behaved at first, it must have been very bad for me in my previous life… but I want to check that off and start anew… For that, I need you/you… I don’t want to experience anything bad in my life again, but to be loved wholeheartedly as part of my own family… I would love to go on adventures with you, meet other dog friends, maybe attend some dog training classes, and fall asleep happily in your arms at the end of the day… What do you think of the idea? Before I move into my new home, I will be neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you would like to adopt me, please contact my fosterers.

About Timida

What life with Timida looks like

Timida is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. in Hamburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Timida, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Timida?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Timida on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Timida if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Timida already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Timida isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Traurige Hundeherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Timida and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
