Timo

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Timo is a typical cat, likes to walk on its own paths, and being cuddled is when he feels like it. He loves to play. A ball, a fishing rod, a laser, a pencil, a screw... everything is a great toy for him. One of his favorite activities is approaching other cats, the size of the opponent is no problem for him, he can approach even our tomcat, who is 3 times bigger. His disability does not hinder him in this. Timo is a disabled cat, he has partially damaged spinal cord, which means he can't move his back legs and has problems with defecation. He goes to the bathroom on his own, but in an uncontrolled way, but when it comes to urine, he needs help. His disability doesn't hinder his normal functioning. He plays and shows off like the other cats. He is able to climb on the bed on his own, and even on a high scratching post. He feels good in the company of other cats, likes to sleep with them, play with them and take care of mutual hygiene. We are looking for a safe, indoor, and loving home for Timo. The condition for adoption is securing the balcony (if there is one) and securing the most frequently opened windows to prevent the kitten from falling out. WARNING!

PL·Show original

About Timo

What life with Timo looks like

Timo is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Timo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Timo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Timo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Timo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Timo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Timo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Timo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
