Adopt Tina

Belgian Malinois · Female · Senior · 9 years

Tina arrived at our shelter after a help request was posted on Facebook. A young man, abandoned by his mother, could no longer take care of the family dog. The young female dog, full of energy, unfortunately stopped going out of the garden and arrived at the shelter very thin. Since her arrival, Tina was adopted once, but came back to the shelter after an incident. This allowed us to better understand her behavior: Tina needs time to trust. Once safe and trusting, Tina fully reveals her playful and affectionate side! She is a strong-willed but loving dog who just wants to discover the world with her future family. She particularly enjoys playtime and has a real passion for the ball... although it will be necessary to avoid overusing it because of her arthritis. On walks, Tina is a pleasant dog: she does not pull on the leash and calmly enjoys her walks, as long as her space is respected and people do not suddenly enter her bubble. However, managing strangers, especially at home, will require particular attention. In general, Tina will need clear life rules and a structured, consistent, and reassuring framework to help her feel secure and progress positively.

About Tina

What life with Tina looks like

Tina is a senior belgian malinois dog waiting at Perwez) in Sans Collier.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Perwez) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Perwez) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Perwez) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
