Tine

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Tine, a 19kg, 48cm tall Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, has been living at the Rhodos Tine shelter since she was a puppy. She was adopted but returned after a few weeks and has been living at the shelter ever since without receiving any inquiries. Tine charms people with her cheerful and affectionate nature. She loves human interaction and greets everyone she meets with openness and warmth. She is especially fond of children and radiates joy from head to toe. It seems as though she is constantly smiling. Tine is easy to love! Particularly when you leave her cage or bring her back from a walk, the dog grieves deeply. Tine is compatible with other dogs. Whether big or small, male or female, Tine greets all dogs with kindness and affection. Cats also hardly interest the dog. Tine is familiar with life on a leash and does not pull at all. Dog encounters, cars, and the loud barking of other dogs are completely unimportant to her! She also knows how to drive a car and does so completely relaxed. Tine loves the sea. Whether rolling in the sand or swimming in the sea, the dog shows that age is just a number. She dashes and frolics, rolls in the sand, and does not want to leave the water! It is high time to find a home where Tine can finally experience life outside the shelter. Because 9 years is far too long. PAW HEROES e.V. Email: © 2022 PAW HEROES e.V. - All Rights Reserved.

PAW HEROES e.V. About Tine

What life with Tine looks like

Tine is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at og:image in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. og:image handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — og:image will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with og:image early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
