Adopt Tinka (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

In the ages provided here, it often involves estimated values as we don't always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. Tinka Born 14.05.2018, Female, Mixed Breed, Size approx. 35 cm, Foster Home. Tinka, the little magic mouse 😉 has won the heart of her foster home and is allowed to continue her little mischief there. The little lady came as a fosterling into a Border Collie household and has taken all so firmly in hand 😉, spreading such good mood that it triggered the "foster placement failure syndrome" 😉 Foster home report: Tinka is a 2.5-year-old, very pretty, small tricolor female dog (about 30 cm, 6.3 kg). Her runt is a bit shorter. This doesn't affect her self-confidence. From the stressed, anxious little bundle in Romania, here within two weeks, she has become an adventurous, cuddly, obedient, and lively mouse. Tinka is house-trained and quiet in the house. She doesn't break anything and doesn't yap, and she also gets along well with other dogs. In the car, she travels calmly. She is compatible with dogs and cats. Outdoors, Tinka can run freely in a safe area. She is always attentive to her person and never loses sight of them. She is not interested in wild animals, livestock, riders, joggers, or cyclists. She is happy to be out with nice people and dogs in the woods and fields. On the leash, she also walks nicely. Only when she sees something new, she needs a moment to take it in. At the vet, she was very friendly. She already takes contact with strangers cautiously. Tinka is simply a dream female dog. She has only a small health handicap: she was infected with Hepatozoon in Romania. These single-celled organisms can trigger disease symptoms. Many dogs, however, never show symptoms. Tinka's future people must pay close attention to her health. Then she can lead a normal dog life. All blood values are currently tip-top. Tinka likes living with dog buddies. With active people who take care of her, she could also be a single dog. She is being fostered here, but also eats high-quality dry food. Tinka can be visited in Wuppertal/NRW. Due to the pandemic, we would suggest a joint walk for getting to know each other. Tinka, what has she only experienced? The little Tinka sits in a puppy pen and is very stressed by the conditions in the animal shelter. She is reserved towards people and was afraid of us, but not panicky. Tinka currently lacks trust and retreats when she is touched. If you are interested in this great dog, please fill out the referral form or call us at the phone number provided. Draußen darf Tinka in sicherem Gelände frei laufen. About Tinka (vermittelt)

What life with Tinka (vermittelt) looks like

Tinka (vermittelt) is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tinka (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tinka (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tinka (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tinka (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tinka (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tinka (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tinka (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
