Tinkiwinki

Podenco · Male

Tinkiwinki ID No.: 1032621 Breed: Podenco Maneto mixed breed Age: 02/2024 Gender: male Shoulder height: approx. 45 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Tinkiwinki (*02/2024, approx. 45 cm) is a young male Podenco Maneto mix with the build of a charming “sausage on legs”—long, low-slung, delightfully quirky-looking, and brimming with joie de vivre. Together with Tipsi, Thorpy, and Eclaire (already adopted), he arrived at our Spanish partner shelter TripleA Marbella after being abandoned by a local hunter. Despite his difficult start in life, Tinkiwinki has retained his wonderfully sociable nature and strong affinity for people—he simply always wants to be right there with you. Whether out for a walk, during meals, relaxing on the sofa, or visiting friends, Tinkiwinki loves being close by your side. He enjoys running with other dogs in the park but quickly returns to check on his human. Call him, and he’ll come immediately—Tinkiwinki forms close bonds with his trusted people very quickly. After walks, he’d most love to sit on your lap and enjoy cozy cuddle sessions. Tinkiwinki is a little charmer full of energy. When excited or seeking attention, he expresses himself vocally—he’s quite talkative, especially in thrilling moments. Therefore, a quieter home without noise-sensitive neighbors would be ideal for him. An apartment building is rather unsuitable. He’s highly trainable and food-motivated, which makes training easier. In new situations, he can occasionally display slightly overenthusiastic behavior, but with calmness, time, and empathy, this will surely improve. Tinkiwinki is intelligent, sensitive, and eager to please—perfect traits for shared activities like nose work, trick training, or other engaging pursuits. Because Tinkiwinki is young, lively, and long-bodied, we would not place him with families with very small children, as he could unintentionally knock them over. Older children who understand respectful interaction with dogs, however, would make perfect playmates and cuddle buddies for him. Tinkiwinki shares not only his background but also his friendly, open demeanor with Tipsi. Although the two get along well, they can easily be rehomed separately—they’re both sociable and will thrive in new canine company. Like many young dogs, Tinkiwinki is currently still quite boisterous on the leash, mainly because he’s rarely had the chance to go for walks before. With regular outings, a bit of patience, and training, he’ll surely master walking on a leash quickly. Since Tinkiwinki has likely never lived in an urban environment, we hope to find him a home in a rural setting or on the outskirts of town, preferably with other dogs. Most importantly, his people should enjoy spending time with him and showing him the world—through hiking, learning, and, of course, cuddling. Tinkiwinki will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will have an EU pet passport prior to travel arrangements. Additionally, he’ll be tested for Mediterranean diseases and treated for worms and fleas. About Tinkiwinki

What life with Tinkiwinki looks like

Tinkiwinki is a large adult podenco dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tinkiwinki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tinkiwinki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tinkiwinki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tinkiwinki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tinkiwinki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tinkiwinki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tinkiwinki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
