adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Tino has found a home! His story: Will I be overlooked again? Tino longs so much for a loving family. Unfortunately, he has been overlooked constantly for almost a year. Our Tino was born around 2023 and was rescued by us about a year ago. He is a glossy black beauty waiting for a second chance at the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. We hope that kind people will soon step forward to offer this beautiful dog a better life as a beloved family pet. With a shoulder height of about 55 cm, Tino is a medium-sized male dog. He is only about 2 years old and has a whole life ahead of him. With his beautiful, light brown eyes, which are even more emphasized by the pretty, light facial marking, he looks forward to the future with hopeful anticipation. Tino surely wants to experience much more, feel the wind in his face, and learn a lot of new things. At the shelter, the young male dog shows some reserve and insecurity towards people. But he likes people, is interested in them, and gets along well with his fellow animals. With patience and respect, one will likely soon win his trust. Tino probably has no experience with life as a family pet and will likely have to learn all the rules anew in his new home. Tino will especially need some time in the beginning to build trust. But Tino is an intelligent, young male dog and will surely quickly understand what is expected of him. After the adjustment period, we would recommend attending a positively working dog training class, as shared training between human and dog will strengthen Tino's self-confidence and the bond to his new owners. Do you want to give Tino the chance he has been waiting for so long? Then contact us. The wonderful Tino travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and neutered to his new home. We would also be very happy about a foster home for Tino. As of: 11.02.

Stand: 11.02.2025

About Tino

What life with Tino looks like

Tino is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
