Adopt Tino (vermittelt)

Male · Young · 3 years

Regarding the provided data, the ages are often estimated values as we don't always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. Tino (Struwwel) Born February 2013 Gender male, neutered Breed Wuschelmix Size medium, approx. 15 kg Foster home Tino managed to find a new dog bed after a short time. He can now go through thick and thin with his new Frauchen. We wish Tino and his Frauchen all the best and a happy, exciting, and especially worry-free time together. 2021 and still happy 🙂 Many thanks for the new photos Struwwel This is Struwwel. His sad story unfortunately stands for many dogs…. He is already the second time in the animal shelter of Teneriffa. As a puppy, he was fortunate enough to be adopted by a family with a dog buddy. Now, after about 3 years, the two were returned together. Fortunately, they had each other… until his little terrier friend found a new family and he was left alone. He is very sad and is not getting along particularly well with his new roommates 🙁 Struwwel has all his vaccinations, is neutered, and is waiting… Who will give this dear fellow a second chance???? Foster home report Our Struwwel or Tino lives on a foster home with two female dogs and cats. He is friendly and open with people and enjoys cuddles. At home, he is clingy and wants to be everywhere. Tino is house-trained and travels comfortably in the car. He likes to go for walks and is interested in everything. Cyclists, joggers, and cars are no problem. He finds other dogs exciting and wants to go to them. He is a good runner and already does a good job with the "on-leash" walking. Sometimes his overexcitement takes over, and he performs jumps and is a real clown. He doesn't particularly enjoy grooming and cleaning his paws and hops around. Tino is a real little treasure with his approx. 11 kg, more of a lightweight for his size. He is certainly a great second dog as he has spent his life with other dogs. On the foster home, he also shows great socialization with the fairer sex 😉 Due to his uncomplicated nature, Tino is also suitable for beginner dog owners. He did not become a second dog but is still very happy in his new home. Update 2021 Here are a few pictures. Click an image to enlarge. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Tino (vermittelt)

What life with Tino (vermittelt) looks like

Tino (vermittelt) is a small young adult dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tino (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tino (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tino (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tino (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tino (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tino (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tino (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
