Titan

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed Titan – small still in age, big already in name and definitely also in his future! Titan is just 4 months old and already a real eye-catcher. His name is fitting, as the handsome puppy is already surprisingly large and hints at the fact that he will become a stately, very large male. There may even be an Owtscharka in Titan, which is why his future humans should be aware that the cute little darling may one day become an imposing livestock guardian dog. Until recently, Titan was allowed to live in a foster home and gain important first experiences there. He has also met cats there. Unfortunately, he now had to move to the animal shelter, although a sheltered home would be especially important for such a young dog. Titan is currently still a playful, curious puppy who wants to discover the world. But with all the cuteness, one should not forget: This little guy will not stay small! His future family should be happy to accompany a large dog as he grows up and deal with the special characteristics of a possible livestock guardian dog. We are looking for people for Titan who are not only seduced by his sweet puppy face but are also willing to take responsibility for the stately dog that is in him. A rural home with enough space and a securely fenced property would be ideal for his development. Titan wants to get to know the world, grow with his humans and one day become an impressive big guy. Who gives him his heart today gets a puppy – and maybe soon a real Titan by his side. Here's Titan's video

About Titan

What life with Titan looks like

Titan is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Titan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Titan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Titan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Titan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Titan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Titan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Titan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
