Tito

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

I am a large cat, a bit shy at first and still learning to trust humans. Birth date: 2015 Gender: male My life story: I have lived in the shelter for many, many years, taken from a life on the street. I have been in the shelter for so long that I don't remember my previous life and consider the shelter my home, where I have always been protected! My temperament: I am a large cat, a bit shy at first and still learning to trust humans. I am not an aggressive cat, but I may need some time to adjust. I get along well with the other cats in the shelter and love to eat! I am very respectful of the other cats and always let them eat first before starting my own meal. With patience and gentle encouragement, I believe I can become a more confident cat. I would do well in a calm and quiet house, where I could feel safe and loved.

Eu ficaria bem numa casa calma e tranquila, onde pudesse sentir-me seguro e amado.

About Tito

What life with Tito looks like

Tito is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Cadela Carlota & Companhia in Portugal.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cadela Carlota & Companhia handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cadela Carlota & Companhia will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cadela Carlota & Companhia early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
