Adopt Tito

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Looking for an experienced family familiar with the breed and capable of providing the mental and physical stimulation he needs. Tito is a second category Rottweiler, he is young, social, a ball of love. Adorable, he is affectionate, loves to play and spend time with us. He is not a runaway, clean, doesn't cause any damage inside and has good basic training. We advise against children. Tito is a category 2 dog, his future owner must have a permit to keep him, a clean criminal record, have specific insurance and declare him to the town hall. Adoption fee 270€ including identification, neutering, first vaccination, internal and external deworming. Shelter without dogs. Shelter without cats. Arrived at the shelter in February 2025. Weight: 43 kg Click here, pre-adoption questionnaire Heartthrob of the week His name is Tito. Two syllables that snap, like his steps when he trots towards you, eyes full of hope. Tito, it's a beautiful soul in an impressive body. A Rottweiler, yes... those that sometimes make you hesitate at first glance. But it takes just one moment to realize that behind his build is a huge heart. Tito will be 4 years old in November. Four years of life, attachment, and then this upheaval he didn't choose. His human, whom he loved so much, had to let him go for health reasons. And since then, Tito has been waiting. He waits for someone to really see him. We, volunteers, try not to get too attached... but there are always exceptions. Tito is one of mine. Because he is one of those who come gently ask for a cuddle, as if saying without words: "I'm here, I also need to love." Because he is playful, cheerful, gentle. Because he gives without counting, without asking questions. Tito is not just "a dog to adopt". It's a presence, a tenderness, a faithful companion who only asks for a second chance. If you're looking for a sincere look, warmth in daily life, a soul that will choose you forever... then maybe Tito is already waiting for you. And if it's not you, share his story. Sometimes, it's just a little light that can change a life. There is love in the air. In this month marked by the symbol of the heart, staff and volunteers imagined a tender attention to highlight the animal they would have chosen to love for life, if they had had the possibility. "And you, if you could adopt a dog, which one would it be? For me it would be Tito. A large and powerful Rottweiler, yes, but above all a huge heart: affectionate, attentive, playful... the kind of companion who gives you a heart flutter at first glance and proves every day that real strength is tenderness" Emilie Dear Santa Claus, It's me Tito, the Rottweiler from the shelter, I can tell you that when I go out with a muzzle, people turn around, "Wow, beautiful animal", "What a presence!" And I love that! Well, sometimes it can be scary, but it's because I'm categorized that I have to wear this basket, apparently for dogs like me it's mandatory, what a shame, not practical to catch balls with! I am a young dog, I just turned 3 years old and I am an athlete, tall, muscular, playful, I can tell you that any toy suits me, I have fun, doing little jumps, like a puppy. Big teddy bear, I love cuddles, I will spend all my time being petted, I also love treats that I take delicately. I am obedient, I like to please my human, I show my nice sit, I come when called, during walks, I know how to stop when asked, I also know the leave it. At home I am very clean and well-behaved, I need to be reassured when you leave, my abandonment due to my owner's health problems made me sad. I'm looking for a home without animals, preferably with big kids, I can be a bit rough when I'm silly. An owner who knows the breed and has a permit for a second category dog.

About Tito

What life with Tito looks like

Tito is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at SPA du Gers in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA du Gers handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA du Gers will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA du Gers early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
