Tj

Male · Adult · 4 years

TJ is a lovely boy who is growing in confidence every day. When he first arrived with us, he found the world a very scary place, but he has made amazing progress and is learning to enjoy life more each day.TJ is looking for a patient and understanding family or individual who can help build his confidence and continue the amazing progress he has already made. He could live with children aged 13 and over.TJ is an incredibly intelligent, food-motivated boy who loves learning, especially when treats are involved. He already knows some basic commands and has even given agility a go, showing just how eager he is to learn. He also loves toys, particularly his cuddly toy, which he proudly carries around with him.TJ gains confidence from other dogs and could happily live with a calm, well-mannered dog. Due to his prey drive, he cannot live with cats.He is doing really well at meeting new people and discovering that the world is not as scary as he once thought. He loves zooming around the garden, playing, exploring, and has enjoyed walks outside the centre where he can sniff and take in his surroundings.Once TJ trusts you, he is incredibly affectionate and loves a cuddle. He is simply looking for someone who will give him patience, time, and lots of love. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion, sidekick, and best friend who is ready to find his forever family.

About Tj

What life with Tj looks like

Tj is a adult dog waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tj, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tj?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tj on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tj if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tj already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tj isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tj and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
