adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Tjore has found a home! His story: We found the puppy Tjore next to a washing station in the outskirts of the city. He was just over 2.5 months old and a complete puppy, completely on his own. Without our help, he wouldn't have had a chance there and would likely have died sooner or later. Of course, we couldn't allow that, and so we took in the cute little guy. The playful little guy is now about 7 months old and currently around 47 cm tall. He will still grow a bit and probably end up medium-sized. Since we don't know his parents, we can only estimate his size. Tjore is a lively, very sweet, and playful young puppy. He loves snuggling with the helpers. He is not only very friendly towards humans but also gets along super well with his fellow animals. We wish very much that Tjore will be picked up by his people and can experience adventures together. With his loving and curious nature, he will surely become a great companion with a loving and empathetic introduction into life. Soon, Tjore will hit puberty, where he will test his owners' limits and push their boundaries. He is looking for someone who stands by him during this hormone chaos and provides the necessary understanding and support so that he can grow into a great dog. Positive training and loving consequences will help get through this time well and emerge as a strong team. For Tjore would never deliberately annoy you. He often can't control his behavior during this tumultuous time and hopes that you will always stand behind him during this difficult time. It would certainly be time to find new friends in dog training classes and finally be allowed to "learn something" – maybe with you? He is eager to learn the dog ABC and form new friendships. Tjore will microchip, vaccinate, deworm, and be treated for fleas in his new home. Of course, he will also bring his EU pet passport. For an adoption fee of 500 Euros and only after a positive Tjore is ready to start a great dog life – maybe with you? Many thanks, Astrid O.! You gave Tjore his cute name. As of: 24.07. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Vielen Dank Astrid O.! Du hast Tjore seinen niedlichen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 24.07.2024

About Tjore

What life with Tjore looks like

Tjore is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tjore, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tjore?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tjore on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tjore if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tjore already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tjore isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tjore and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
